Laura Minns

I work at Dunswell Academy in Class 3, teaching years 3 and 4. I enjoy working in a small school; there a real sense of community and it is lovely to really get to know the children. One of the key things that appealed to me about the Trust Leader role was the opportunity to work collaboratively with teachers in schools across the Trust. With a small teaching team at Dunswell I am sure there is lots that we can learn from and share with school across the Trust.

 

I studied Religions and Theology at Manchester University and passionately believe that understanding the beliefs and faiths of others is vital for children. RE provides an opportunity for us to help children ask questions in a respectful manner and develop an understanding of how religion can shape the communities we live in.

 

In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family, I have two sons who keep me very busy! We enjoy trips to seaside (in summer and winter!) visiting the park and baking together.
