Caroline Ainley

Head Teacher - Hook C E Primary School

I am Caroline Ainley and I am always privileged to be able to introduce myself as the Head at Hook CE Primary School.

I have wanted to work in a school as long as I can remember, completing my Bsc Hons in Marine Biology with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) at Scarborough University in 2000, with the vision of being a great member of staff for a visit to the beach! I secured my first teaching role as an NQT at Hook CE Primary, and with the excellent role models, community spirit and career opportunities, I still find myself here today.

I have been inspired by some incredible, creative teachers, who made learning engaging and enjoyable for all. During my many years here, I have had held leadership roles in Maths, Religious Education and Special Education Needs amongst other things, but also have a personal interest in the arts, particularly Dance, Drama and Music.

I became the Interim Head of School in 2007 and secured the role full time in 2008, shortly after the school joined Edukos Trust. We wanted to be part of an extended family of schools whose visions and values aligned with our own and, as a Voluntary Aided Church of England school, we were keen to join a Trust that celebrated our Christian character. I have valued the opportunity we have all had to work with other schools, sharing resources and good practice and building those wider working relationships. We have seen for ourselves that we can really be exceptional together.
